THE YOGA PROGRAM AT FLFC
Finger Lakes Fitness Center's certified yoga instructors have studied with top-level teachers in their respective lineages (Svaroopa Yoga, and Yoga in the Iyengar Tradition.) Between them, they represent over twenty years of professional teaching experience in the Ithaca area. In their classes, you can expect a wealth of information about specific benefits and precautions, an extensive knowledge of anatomy, sensitive and expert hands-on adjustments in the poses, and precise and accessible instruction.
Our beautiful and well-equipped yoga studio features wood floors, wall–length mirrors, an efficient heating and cooling system, a full supply of clean blankets, blocks, yoga belts and sticky mats AND Iyengar Yoga wall ropes.
You do not have to be a club member to take yoga classes! Call for information about day rates and great deals on class passes.
If you’re just embarking on the yogic path and wondering where to start, we invite you to try out a class in each style of yoga. All ages, body types, and levels of fitness are welcome at FLFC yoga classes.
Keep in mind that regular yoga instruction with a trained teacher may be helpful for weight loss, high blood pressure, insomnia, and back pain, among other conditions. (Check with your physician before beginning a yoga program.)

Do you love to dance? Our friendly, supportive atmosphere nurtures movers. We indulge ourselves in long floor stretches, strengthen ourselves with center barre work and energize ourselves with dynamic, contemporary NYC-style jazz choreography. This style reflects various influences including: 1940's Swing, Lyric jazz, musical theatre dance, and urban funk. The beginners class includes floor stretches, technique exercises and fun routines. Intermediate classes feature dance routines incorporating complex movements and floor patterns so previous training in the movement arts is strongly encouraged for this level class.
